TOWN OF JANESVILLE
April 8,  2008

Chairman of the Meeting:        Town Chairman Edward Marshall

Clerk of the Meeting:	       Town Clerk Andrea Peabody

Others Present:	(6)  members of the public and the Clerk & Chairman &
Treasurer

Meeting called to order, followed by Chairman Marshall, at 7:30 p.m.
in the town hall, 1628 N. Little Court,   Janesville, Wisconsin.

1.	Minutes of the 2007 Annual Meeting
	Moved by Gary Fox, seconded by Bob Mielke ,  to approve the 2007
minutes, as 	presented at the annual town meeting,  as submitted by
the town clerk and read by 	Chairman Marshall.   Motion carried on
voice vote.

2.	2007 Financial Report
	Copies of the 2007 Town Financial Report completed by Deignan &
Associates were available 	for inspection.  Moved by Bob Mielke,
seconded by Archie Henkelmann to approve the 2007 	Town Financial
Report as presented.  Motion carried on voice vote.

3.	Set Date for the 2009 Town Meeting
	Moved by Edward Marshall, seconded by Bruce Schneider, to set
Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 	7:30 p.m., the date and time,  for the 2009
Town Meeting to be held in the Town Hall.  Motion 	carried on voice
vote.

4.	Results of the Spring Election
	Chairman Marshall read the results of the Spring Election held in
the Town of 	Janesville.  400 	voters cast their ballots. 

5.	2008-2009 Town Road Maintenance
	Moved by Ed Marshall, seconded by Bruce Schneider,  to approve
$125,000 for road 	maintenance for 2008.  Motion carried by voice
vote.  It was noted the road trip will be 	scheduled as soon as
possible.

6.	Discuss possibility of exceeding tax levy
	Discussion focused on the possibility of putting this matter to
referendum in the fall or 	borrowing money, then paying it back plus
interest.  Residents present expressed the importance 	of quality
roads and availability of emergency services, the two highest expenses
for the Town.  	Moved by Gary Fox, seconded by Bob Mielke to put this
matter of increasing the tax levy to 	referendum in the fall.  Motion
carried on voice vote. 
	
7.	Other Business
	1)	Chairman Marshall asked if he should talk to the City of
Janesville about a possible 	rebate check if the fire protection
figures came in lower than expected.  Everyone present voted 	that he
should talk to them.  

8.	Adjournment
	Moved by Bruce Schneider, seconded by Gary Fox, to adjourn the 2008
annual town meeting.   	Motion carried on voice vote.

	Meeting adjourned at 8:33 p.m.
