MINUTES OF TOWN CAUCUS

January 15, 2009.
(19) persons were present.
Caucus called to order by, Chairman Marshall, at 7:30 p.m., at the
Town Hall, 1628 N. Little Ct., Janesville, WI.
Moved by Ray Gehrig, seconded by Gary Fox to nominate Archie
Henkelmann to serve as Caucus Chair. Chairman Marshall asked for
nominations from the floor three (3) additional times. Motion carried
on voice vote.
Town Clerk Andrea Peabody served as Clerk of the Caucus
Appointment of Tellers
Cathy Schneider, 3001 W. River Dr. and Janet Kassel, 1438 N. County
Road H, were appointed, by Chairman Henkelmann to serve as Tellers for
the Caucus.
1. Nominations for Town Chairman
Moved by Robert Mielke, seconded by Gary Fox, to nominate Edward
Marshall for Town Chairman.
Chairman Henkelmann called for nominations from the floor three (3)
additional
times.
Moved by Gary Fox, seconded by Bruce Schneider that nominations for
Town Chairman to be voted on at the Spring Election, to be held April
7, 2009, be closed. Motion carried on voice vote.
2. Nominations for Town Supervisor
Moved by Ray Gehrig, seconded by Linda Fewell to nominate Robert
Mielke for Town Supervisor.
Moved by Ray Gehrig, seconded by Gary Fox to nominate Bruce
Schneider for Town Supervisor.
Chairman Henkelmann called for nominations from the floor three (3)
additional
times.
Moved by Gary Fox, seconded by Audrey Gehrig that nominations for
Town Supervisor to be voted on at the Spring Election, to be held
April 7, 2009, be closed. Motion carried on voice vote.
3. Nominations for Town Clerk
Moved by Bruce Schneider, seconded Peggy Augustine to nominate Linda
Fewell for Town Clerk.
Moved by Ed Marshall, seconded Nancy Marshall to nominate Andrea
Peabody for Town Clerk. Clerk Peabody declined the nomination.
Moved by Gary Fox, seconded Don Blakeney to nominate Janet Kassel for
Town Clerk.
Chairman Henkelmann called for nominations from the floor three (3)
additional
times.
Moved by Robert Mielke, seconded by Linda Fewell that nominations
for
Town Clerk to be voted on at the Spring Election, to be held April 7,
2009, be closed. Motion carried on voice vote.
4. Nominations for Town Treasurer
Moved by Bruce Schneider, seconded by Gary Fox to nominate Peggy
Augustine for Town Treasurer.
Chairman Henkelmann called for nominations from the floor three (3)
additional
times.
Moved by Cathy Schneider, seconded by Ed Marshall that nominations
for
Town Treasurer to be voted on at the Spring Election, to be held
April 7, 2009, be closed. Motion carried on voice vote.
5. Nominations for Town Constable
Moved by Ray Gehrig, seconded by Bruce Schneider to nominate Archie
Henkelmann for Town Constable.
Chairman Henkelmann called for nominations from the floor three (3)
additional
times.
Moved by Ray Gehrig, seconded by Gary Fox that nominations for
Town Constable to be voted on at the Spring Election, to be held
April 7, 2009, be closed. Motion carried on voice vote.
6. Drawing for Ballot Placement
The drawing for placement on the ballot will be:
Town Supervisor
Robert Mielke 1st
Bruce Schneier 2nd
Before drawing for ballot placement for Town Clerk, Janet Kassel
announced she would like to withdraw from her nomination for that
position.
7. Adjournment
Moved by Tod Daniel, seconded by Bruce Schneider, to adjourn the
2009 Town Caucus. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
